Hi, I'm Renn and this is my report. It is not related to anything famous or cool, but a personal thing inspired by the many reports I've given on life far away from family and friends.

Basic things to know include: I live with my husband and cat, have red hair (dyed), and have a masters degree that I haven't yet used (that is to say, I have not worked in the field). I love cooking, reading, long walks by myself and with others, creating things with my hands, and reading really depressing news articles (preferably about international things and/or public health). I love shadows, cheese, winter landscapes, socks, coffee, cold oceans, and theatre. In our two-person-one-cat family, I am M, he is Q, and the cat is Jaws (if terrifying sharks also really liked to snuggle).

In February 2018 we moved from California, USA, to Vienna, Austria. That is almost 6000 miles and approximately five straight months of packing, selling, cleaning, shipping, driving, visiting, flying, searching, settling, buying, crafting, walking, learning... We could have done it faster/easier/better/etc., but so could anyone with anything and the work has paid off. We love this new city, our new apartment, these new people we're meeting, these new experiences we're having. 

 

Now that we have loved ones scattered all over the country, and the world, I wanted to start a blog to keep in touch, and am only just now following up on it. Time differences and general life things have ways of stalling communication, and I'm one of the worst at this. The Report is just an additional way to follow the adventure for anyone who is interested.
